The Earlier Bells.

It is recorded in 1878 there were 6 bells:-

  • Treble.1682. Henry I/II? Bagley. (Modern 5th.)
  • 2nd.      1682. Henry I/II? Bagley. (Replaced 1906)
  • 3rd.       1682. Matthew Bagley.    (Replaced 1906)
  • 4th.       1860. John Taylor & Son. ? /or Co. ? (Modern 8th.)
  • 5th.       1726. Thomas I Eayre.       (Modern 9th.)
  • Tenor. 1857. John Taylor & Son. (Modern Tenor).
  • It appears, the 1682 Bagley bells were a partnership casting between Matthew & Henry.
  • The 1726 Thomas I Eayre bell may have been a re-casting of a previous Watts bell.
    Further research is required.
