Bryan II Eldridge

Bryan II Eldridge was a member of a family of bellfounders working in Chertsey, Surrey for generations. However there appears to be a short period of time, 1656 to 1658, when a temporary foundry was set up at Coventry as well as continuing at Chertsey. It is in this time span that we believe that the bells were cast for the local area.
The locations are as follows:-
1) The early tenor bell dated 1658 at Lilbourne, re-cast in 1761/2.
2) The early 2nd. bell dated 1656 at Crick, presumably re-cast in later years.
3) Shawell, 1 Bell dated 1656.
4) Harborough Magna, 2 bells dated 1657.(unringable).
5) Willey, 1 bell dated 1658. (unringable).
6) Stoke Golding, 1 bell dated 1656.
7) Withybrook, The early 2nd. bell dated 1657, presumably re-cast in later years.
8) Lapworth, 1 bell dated 1656.
9) Wappenbury, 1 bell dated 1657. (unringable).
10) Fillongley, 1 bell dated 1658.
11) Burton Hastings, 1 bell dated 1657.
12) Kenilworth, only the tenor bell remains, dated 1656 but there were originally 5 bells cast which replaced an even earlier set of 4.
At Tamworth there was 1 bell & at Warwick,St.Mary’s, 1 bell both presumed re-cast in later years.
